Tutorial, part 11 - Waistband to Body

Place the waistband (piece I or J) on the jacket body, right sides facing and edges flush. 

For the Sisko versions, sew the waistband to the jacket body across the back six body panels. 

For the Picard versions, sew the waistband to the bottom of the side body panels, then repeat for the other side. 

Press the seam allowance downward.

Sew the remainder of the front and back side seams (the ones you left open before), making sure the waistband seam allowance is sewn downward into the seam. 

Press seam allowances open.

Hand-stitch the waistband seam allowance to the waistband underlining, being careful not to stitch all the way through the layers to the outside of the garment.
