Exceptions and Oddities, part 3

Another oddity about Lieutenant Neely's jacket, though, was that her DS9/NEM jacket was the only one we ever saw that had the jumpsuit-style "Velcro sleeve vents":

DS9, 6x2 "Rocks and Shoals"

Every other DS9/NEM jacket we've seen had closed sleeves/sleeve cuffs.

One final oddity concerning Lieutenant Neely's jacket: a separate auction listing for her costume ensemble contained a DS9/NEM jacket that didn't look anything like hers from "Rocks and Shoals," or even the other auction listing for her costume ...

Although the pants/division shirt look comparable (note both the dark, rather than gold, zipper in the back, as well as the tank top underneath the division shirt), the jacket on the right has a much deeper yoke, appears to have a rounded upper front opening, and lacks the DS9/NEM-style sleeve cuffs.

The most likely explanation seems to be that the jacket on the right was a men's jacket - probably one of Captain Picard's from First Contact (which was released the previous production year to Deep Space Nine's "Rocks and Shoals," and Insurrection wouldn't be released until the following production year), with the sleeve cuffs removed.

DS9, 6x2 "Rocks and Shoals"
Assuming this was the case, our best guess is that it was either used in the background during the episode at some point and listed as her costume garment (see right), or the auction listing was erroneous (perhaps due to a mislabeling of the jacket).
