Another unfortunate "flaw" in many of the pre-Nemesis DS9/NEM uniforms was asymmetry of the front yokes.

This issue was hardly comfined to the DS9/NEM "captain jackets" check out our DS9/NEM duty jumpsuit and DS9/NEM admiral jacket analyses/tutorials for more examples of this on those garments.
Thankfully, when Nemesis came along, The Powers That Be finally standardized the neckline/front opening on the jackets (if not on the jumpsuits - oh well)!
